When we can center a love for humanity and a connection to Source within birth first, the ripple effects will be immeasurable.

About Me

I believe everything begins and ends with birth. When we can center a love for humanity and a connection to Source within birth first, we create spaces of generational healing. It is my highest hope that all clients who work with me are able to meet themselves, their loved ones, and the world around them more fully and deeply.

In addition to my birth and postpartum doula practice, I am a traditional bodyworker, home herbalist, and placenta medicine specialist. My bodywork sessions are available to all — including women and nonbinary people at all stages of life, men, and children. I am also a student of partería en la tradición — learning the art of traditional midwifery in Oaxaca, México.

I’m a slow-moving human and textbook Pisces who likes to read, dance, spend time in nature, watercolor paint, and cuddle my cat, Nala.

About La Rahm Sagrada

Rahm means “womb” in Arabic.  In Islam, one of the 99 names for God is Ar-Rahman, which means “The Most Merciful”. This is the only name of God that carries an inherent connection to a human body part, the uterus. I believe that the womb is God’s counterpart, and that we each mirror the wombs in which we come from.

Sagrada means “sacred” in Spanish. The womb functions as a second heart for the woman. It is a sacred container for intuition, memories, traumas, and ancestral wisdom. Just like Mother Earth, the womb creates, protects life, and transmutes energy. It is our first home. When we honor the womb, we honor the Divine and we honor humanity.

  • Binti’s respect for the birth process is inspiring. She has a reverence for the process that assured me that I was in caring and knowledgeable hands.

    Allison & Justin

  • "Binti exceeded our expectations as a doula for our first pregnancy! She’s knowledgeable, comforting, nurturing and has such a welcoming spirit!"

    Morgan & Morris

  • "Having Binti at our side was a blessing; she helped us feel empowered and in control. She helped us create a “birth plan on a page” to succinctly communicate our preferences for a hospital birth. With her experience, the plan was easily communicated and understood by the medical team."

    Mónica & Danny

  • "I struggled with pelvic pain for many years and after one sobada session with Binti, the pain was 95% improved. Binti is very knowledgeable and she brings a warm and grounded energy to her work, which made me feel safe and relaxed throughout."

My Birth Philosophy

  • The divine source that we all originate from is referred to by many names: Allah, Creator, God, Source, Spirit, the Universe... This cosmic wisdom lives within each of us, is revealed when we need it, and has much to teach us. Within birth, this energy becomes even more tangible. When spirituality is removed from birth, we limit the expansiveness available to us.

I approach birth from a decolonial, spiritual, and holistic lens. Birth has always been here, and will always be here. We do not need to hold the same beliefs in order to work together. I hope that we can meet the journey of birth with curiosity, openness, and reverence for the Divine.

  • I believe birth is a physiological process, like digestion or breathing. When we approach birth with fear or distrust, we are out of alignment. At its core, birth is a rhythmic and psychedelic process. When we halt this journey by intervening unnecessarily, we disrupt one of nature’s oldest rites of passage.

I believe that birth can bring deeper intuition, altered states of consciousness, and soul transformation to the surface. It is the ultimate preparation for parenthood. As you birth a new soul into being, a new version of you is born too. It’s my greatest privilege to witness and nurture this blossoming.

  • I believe that the body has an innate wisdom. It holds an inherent ability to adapt, regulate, transform, and heal itself, no matter who you are.

When we move away from the ego and mind, and tap into the messages of our body and heart, we honor the wisdom that lives within. When we can move away from the compulsion to control, we can hear and trust the intuition that lives in the body.

I am not the expert of your body, nor your birth. I do not manage birth, nor my clients. I listen to the innate wisdom of my clients, and I elevate them. I trust that you are the expert of your body and your journey.

Knowledge Base

I give thanks to the maestras, elders, and wisdom-keepers who are largely influential in my practice and the offerings I am able to bring to my community. I would not be able to do this work without their direction and guidance.
