About Me

I believe everything begins and ends with birth. When we can center a love for humanity and a connection to Source within birth first, the ripple effects will be immeasurable. It is my highest hope that all clients who work with me are able to meet themselves, their loved ones, and the world around them more fully and deeply.

In addition to my doula practice, I am a placenta medicine specialist, bodyworker, infant caregiver, and budding sobadora. My bodywork sessions are available to all — including women at all stages of life, men, and children. I’m also a student of partería en la tradición — learning the art of ancestral midwifery in Oaxaca, México.

I’m a slow-moving human and textbook Pisces who likes to read, dance, spend time in nature, watercolor paint, or cuddle my cat, Nala.

About La Rahm Sagrada

Rahm means “womb” or “uterus” in Arabic.  In Islam, one of the 99 names for God is Ar Rahman “the most merciful”. This is the only name with a connection to the human body because it shares the same root word. I believe that the womb is a counterpart to god, and that we’re reflections of the womb.

Sagrada means “sacred” in Spanish.  It highlights that the womb is the seat of divinity and the only organ capable of creating humanity.

  • Binti’s respect for the birth process is inspiring. She has a reverence for the process that assured me that I was in caring and knowledgeable hands.

    Allison & Justin

  • "Binti exceeded our expectations as a doula for our first pregnancy! She’s knowledgeable, comforting, nurturing and has such a welcoming spirit!"

    Morgan & Morris

  • "Having Binti at our side was a blessing; she helped us feel empowered and in control. She helped us create a “birth plan on a page” to succinctly communicate our preferences for a hospital birth. With her experience, the plan was easily communicated and understood by the medical team."

    Mónica & Danny

  • "I struggled with pelvic pain for many years and after one sobada session with Binti, the pain was 95% improved. Binti is very knowledgeable and she brings a warm and grounded energy to her work, which made me feel safe and relaxed throughout."

My Birth Philosophy

  • I believe that the body has an innate wisdom. It has an inherent ability to adapt, regulate, transform, and heal, no matter who you are.

When we move away from the ego and mind, and tap into the messages our body and heart send us, we honor the divine wisdom living within us. When we move away from the compulsion to control, we can hear and trust the intuition that lives in the body.

I am not the expert of your body, nor your birth. I do not manage birth, nor my clients. I listen to the innate wisdom of my clients, and I elevate them. I trust that you are the expert of your body and your journey.

  • I believe birth is a physiologic process, like digestion or breathing. When we approach birth with fear and distrust, we are out of alignment. Birth is a rhythmic, psychedelic journey. When we halt this journey by intervening unnecessarily, we disrupt one of nature’s oldest rites of passage.

I believe that birth can bring deeper intuition, altered states of consciousness, and soul transformation to the surface. It is the ultimate preparation for parenthood. As you birth a new soul into being, a new version of you is born too. It’s my greatest privilege to witness this unfolding.

  • The Divine source that we all originate from is referred to as many names: Allah, Creator, the Universe, God, Spirit, Source... This otherworldly wisdom lives within each of us, is revealed when we need it, and has much to teach us. Within birth, this energy becomes even more tangible. When spirituality is removed from birth, we miss the cosmic experience that it is.

I follow a decolonial, holistic, and mystical way of approaching birth. Birth has always been here, and will always be here. We do not need to hold the same beliefs in order to work together, but we must meet the journey of birth with curiosity, openness, and reverence for the Divine.

Knowledge Base

I give thanks to the maestras, elders, and wisdom-keepers who are largely influential in my practice and the offerings I am able to bring to my community. I would not be able to do this work without their direction and guidance.
