Placenta Medicine
Throughout time and across cultures, the placenta has been honored by families as a counterpart to the child, a sacred ally, and a source of nourishment. I provide packages for new birthing parents who wish to preserve or consume their placenta. Placenta medicine may provide support for hormonal balance, restoration of iron levels, boosting milk supply, and an increase in energy.

Placenta Medicine Questions
What if I don’t want to eat my placenta?
1
There are many ways that a family can honor their child’s placenta beyond consumption. Before industrialized medicine, families usually either buried, burned, or ate their placenta. I offer ceremonial placenta burial, which can be done on land or in a large pot. My protocol is aligned with traditional African American birth practices, but the ceremony can be adapted to your family’s own spiritual or cultural beliefs and rituals.
How many capsules will my placenta make?
2
The amount of capsules depends on the size of your placenta. No placenta is the same, and the size varies from person to person. I find that there is usually anywhere from about 70-120 capsules, with the goal being to finish all capsules within the first 6 weeks postpartum. Your capsules will come with an instruction card and list the total amount of capsules your placenta produced.
